Sedation Dentistry
A calmer visit, when anxiety makes it hard to relax.
What nitrous oxide is
Nitrous oxide, sometimes called laughing gas, is the most frequently used method for easing mild to moderate anxiety at the dentist. It is administered through a small mask that fits over your nose, and it works to calm anxiety and raise your pain threshold while you remain awake and able to talk with Dr. Sipes.
What it feels like
As the gas begins to work, you become calm and time can seem to pass more quickly than usual. At the end of your appointment, you resume breathing regular oxygen and the effects disappear, so you can resume your normal activities right away.
If dental visits make you anxious
You do not have to grit your teeth through an appointment. Tell us about your concerns before your visit, and we will talk through whether sedation is a good option for you.
"I have honestly never been able to say good things about any of my dentists until now! Seriously! Now I can finally say I don't mind going to the dentist. The staff and Dr. Yancy are the best and holistic! The price is even doable, not like these other over the top offices that really you end up paying for in the end. I have sadly had some really traumatic injuries from a few dentists so I would avoid going at all costs! Happy to say no more!!!! All good and no PTSD"
