Biological Dentistry

Traditional dental care, with the whole body in mind.

What biological dentistry means

Every biological dentist goes to dental school and offers the same traditional services you would expect: cleanings, fillings, and care for your gums. The difference is the approach. A traditional dentist often treats the symptom in front of them, while a biological dentist tries to find the root cause of the problem. We ask about your diet, your sleep, and your overall health, because what happens in your mouth is connected to the rest of your body.

Materials chosen with your whole body in mind

In today's world we are already surrounded by toxins and chemicals. We would rather not add to them. Everything we place is mercury-free and biocompatible, chosen to limit your exposure to unhealthy materials. If you have older mercury amalgam fillings, we are equipped to remove them safely. As one holistic principle puts it, we cannot promise you a life without toxins, but we do not see why we should be the source of them.

Care that works with the rest of your health

We coordinate with your naturopathic or medical providers so your dental care fits the bigger picture of your health. For patients who want them, we offer toxin-free, fluoride-free, and BPA-free products, along with alternatives for remineralizing your teeth. And you do not have to consider yourself a "holistic person" to be here. Everyone deserves to choose the treatment that best suits their needs.

Preserving what is already yours

Biological dentistry aims to preserve as much of your natural tooth structure as possible while still repairing any damage or decay. Keeping more of your own tooth can reduce the need for more invasive treatment later on. When a bigger decision comes up, we walk through it together, so the plan is one you understand and agree with.

"As a Naturopathic Doctor, I know how profoundly dental health can affect your overall health and I promote Biological Dentistry to my patients. My professional opinion is that they offer much better solutions for dental problems. I became a patient of Dr. Sipes earlier this year and have enjoyed working with him and his staff. I feel like he does a more thorough checkup than other dentists that I have visited. They offer more natural, chemical free products as part of their treatments. Highly recommend"
