Fillings

Restoring a decayed or damaged tooth, materials chosen with care.

What a filling does

A filling repairs a tooth after decay has been removed, restoring its shape and function so you can chew and speak comfortably again. There are two kinds: direct fillings, placed into the prepared tooth in a single visit, and indirect fillings such as inlays and onlays, which are used when a tooth has too much damage to support a filling but not enough to need a crown.

Composite, not silver amalgam

Newer filling materials include ceramic and composite resins that mimic the appearance of your natural teeth. As a biological dentistry practice, everything we place is mercury-free and biocompatible, chosen to limit your exposure to unhealthy materials. If you have older amalgam fillings you would like removed, we are equipped to do that safely.

What to expect
