What a crown does
A crown is a cap cemented over an existing tooth, usually covering the portion above the gum line. It becomes the tooth's new outer surface, and is most often used for teeth that are broken, worn, or have portions destroyed by decay. Crowns and onlays are needed when there is not enough of the tooth left to hold a filling.
Your crown is created from an impression of your tooth, which lets us examine your bite and jaw movement so the finished crown functions normally once it is placed.
What a bridge does
A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth, helps maintain the shape of your face, and relieves stress on your bite. It bridges the gap left by missing teeth and is bonded onto the surrounding teeth for support. Because a bridge depends on the health of the teeth, gums, and bone around it, keeping those structures healthy matters for how long it lasts.
Materials chosen with your health in mind
Crowns and bridges can be made of porcelain, metal, or a combination. As a biological dentistry practice, we choose mercury-free, biocompatible materials, and we talk through your options with you before any work begins.
"Best dentist in Idaho! I’ve been to many natural dentists and he surpasses them all. Very good at what he does, humble, cool and thorough! Best prices too. I have no insurance… Can’t say enough as I could go on. He’s worth the drive to Nampa!! Love him and his staff is great!"
