What happens at a regular exam and cleaning
A regular exam and cleaning is the visit that catches small problems before they become big ones. We check for anything you may not see or feel, look for cavities or other signs of decay, and inspect your teeth and gums for gingivitis and early signs of periodontal disease.
Each visit includes a detailed cleaning, in which we clean, polish, and rinse your teeth to remove the tartar and plaque that build up on the tooth's surface over time.
Why every six months matters
Visiting our office every six months gives you the chance to talk with Dr. Sipes about any questions you have about your oral health, and gives us the chance to catch changes early. Because we approach dentistry through a whole-health lens, your regular exam is also a chance to talk about how your diet, sleep, and overall health connect to what is happening in your mouth.

Regular exams are offered by appointment only, so please contact our practice today to schedule your next exam and cleaning. Most exam and cleaning visits run about 45 minutes.
